As the author states in this book, written and completed as a master's thesis under my supervision in 2020, the World Trade Organization (WTO) is of great importance because it is the only international organization where global trade rules are set and disputes are resolved. As of April 2023, the WTO has 164 members, accounting for 98% of global trade. In addition, WTO agreements are known to consist of legal texts on agriculture, telecommunications, government procurement, textiles and clothing, intellectual property rights, industrial standards and product safety, banking, and food sanitation regulations, and more.
